Safeguarding Statement

Kettering Park Infant Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

All the staff at Park Infant Academy share an objective to help keep the children safe by contributing to:

  • Providing a safe environment for them to learn

  • Identifying children who are suffering or likely to suffer significant harm and taking appropriate action, with the aim of making sure that they are kept safe both at home and in the education setting.

  • Using safe recruitment procedures for adults who work with our children

To achieve this objective, we:

  • Aim to prevent unsuitable people from working with the children

  • Promote safe practice and challenge any poor or unsafe practice

  • Identify instances where there are grounds for concern about a child’s welfare and initiate or take appropriate action to keep them safe

  • Contribute to effective partnership working between all those involved in providing services for our children

Park Infant Academy follows the strict guidance of the Local Children's Safeguarding Board Northants. It has a clear policy regarding Safeguarding and Child Protection, which is available on this website. Paper copies of the policy can be obtained from the Academy office on request.

The Designated Senior Lead for Child Protection at Park Infant Academy is:

Deputy DSL's are:

Mrs P Hulse (Head teacher).

Mrs D Featherstone (Year One Leader)

Mrs M Vowles (Family Support Worker)

Mrs H Marshall (Deputy Head Teacher)

The DSLs are required to undergo training every 2 years and disseminate their training to ALL staff.  All issues of child protection are dealt with promptly and in confidence according to the guidelines of the LCSB. If you have any questions, queries or concerns regarding our procedures please contact one of the above members of staff.

The Safeguarding Governor is Miss Sally Langley who can be contacted via the Academy office.
